The Takoma Theatre is in the heart of the Takoma Historic District in DC's Ward 4 and just across the boundary from old town Takoma Park, MD.
The theatre anchors the south end of the 4th Street retail corridor one block west of the Takoma Metro Station and five blocks west of old town Takoma Park MD at Carroll and Eastern Avenues.
The 4th Street corridor lies midway between two designated "Main Streets", Upper Georgia Avenue and Takoma Park''s Old Town.
The Takoma Theatre has been the only independent, diversified performing arts theatre in NW/NE DC centered in Ward 4 with its nearby DC neighborhoods of Brightwood, Brightwood Park, Manor Park, Shepherd Park, Colonial Village, North Portal Estates, Chevy Chase, Lamond-Riggs, Petworth and Takoma.
