Conservancy receives certified 'clean' audit for FY 2009

[April, 2010] Farmer & First, Independent Certified Public Accountants, Warren, RI conducted an audit of the financial position of the Takoma Theatre Conservancy. They found that "...the financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of Takoma Theatre Conservancy as of December 31, 2009 and that the change in its net assets and cash flows for the year then ended in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America.

Architecture firm Westlake, Reed, Leskosky (WRL) joins Conservancy advisory and study team

[December, 2009] The Conservancy has enlisted WRL, a nationally recognized firm in the design of performing and cultural arts facilities to assist in the development of conceptual options for revitalization of the Takoma Theatre facility.  These studies, which include benchmarking alternatives from area theaters, are being conducted during spring, 2010.

Forrester Construction joins the team of professionals advising Conservancy Board

[February, 2009]  Forrester Construction Company, one of the area's major commercial general contractors, has agreed to assist the Board and its architectural consultants identify and estimate options for renovations of the theatre. Their most recent project includes completion of the renovation of Ford's Theatre -- a project that won multiple awards. Teaming with Martinez & Johnson, the company also completed the local historic renovation of the Takoma Park Library -- the first branch library(1911) in DC's system. Forrester is noted for its commitment to energy efficient solutions and sustainable building practices.
